Mindful observation

Lives can be so busy that we rush around from one thing to the next. We are on autopilot, not paying attention to the moment we are in, not seeing what is around us, but planning the next thing we have to do.

Being able to take time out to focus on what is around you can help to reduce stressful feelings and appreciate the moment that you are in. An observation of an object, a picture, a flower for example, can help to ground you if you are feeling overwhelmed about an issue that is really upsetting you.

How about practicing connecting with something, really focus on the object and look at every aspect of it. How about spend some time looking at the image above? You can be amazed at what you see and notice! How do you feel afterwards? How about giving yourself permission to practice this on a daily basis, to allow yourself to pause for a moment in your day.
